Literature Text

Fall asleep in someone's dream
Reflections shine, confusions gleam
And find the glass behind their eyes
To search for truth within the lies

In this dream, the conscience wakes
Trav'ling time beyond mistakes
To find a place of constant bliss
Future holding Hope's one kiss

Colors move the stage of sound
Painting pictures with no bounds
Losing minds to clear the thoughts
And finding worth in clever plots

Cruel injustice took it's toll
Unleashing hatred on the soul
But in this world that life departs
Wonder moving off the charts

Waking up may sound insane
Unless you touch the window pane
Dreams can always everlast
With courage to forget the past

Worlds unknown exist to please
But satisfaction is a tease
If masks exist to hide one's shame
They don't deserve to play the game

Unify the truths and lies
To move through life and build the ties
It takes more heart than it may seem
To fall asleep in someone's dream
Wrote this for a journal in Health class. We were able to write about anything so I decided to write a poem. This is basically making your dreams come true by following them and combining them with reality. It has a literal and metaphoric theme. Literally, dreams are sometimes crazy, as are metaphoric ones. But that doesn't mean they can't come true. Sorta complicated. I also have it written as a song by putting a chorus that I wrote a few times throughout. But it fits better as a poem.
